World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using fewer upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure what will be improved following a reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a high chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails. A failure to upgrade can destroy the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.
You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
After you have acquired the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example an Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes too.
Leveling
The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim your upgrade and also receive the bonuses.
When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This can be a downside, as the item can increase in price even if you do not require it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrade s . This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like dolphins). The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is highly useful in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to increase the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to revert to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Players will still have to take every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs mentioned above.
